A DECISION TREE TO HELP YOU ORGANIZE YOUR CLOSET
Closet editing can feel deceptively emotional.
On paper, it sounds simple: keep what you wear, let go of what you don’t! But in reality, clothes often hold memories, old versions of ourselves, fantasy versions of ourselves, feelings about our bodies, guilt around money spent…and all the “maybe one day” narratives we’ve collected over time.
So if you find closet editing overwhelming, you’re not doing it wrong. It really can be quite a process.
That said, sometimes having a really clear decision tree can help take some of the pressure off!
This is a boiled-down version you can use when you’re standing in front of your closet asking, “Do I actually keep this?”:
A good closet edit does not need to be ruthless and it doesn’t need to happen in one afternoon! And it definitely doesn’t need to be about shrinking yourself into some perfectly minimal capsule wardrobe. It can simply be a practice of paying closer attention. What fits? What functions? What feels like you? What still has a place in your life?
That’s the work!
And I sincerely hope this easy decision tree helps you navigate that work with a bit more ease.
And of course, closet editing is just one part of building a wardrobe that actually feels like yours. If you’d love more personalized support, you can explore working with me through Hina Low Studio.
